- Strengthening Media and Information Literacy in Nepal
UNESCO will work with education institutions, youth organizations, and media partners to support gender-responsive, inclusive Media and Information Literacy (MIL) policies and digital initiatives that strengthen resilience to disinformation, misinformation, and gender-based online hate speech. This workplan contributes to UNESCO’s regional priority on inclusive, safe, and rights-based digital transformation, while strengthening young people’s particularly young women's role as informed, safe, and responsible digital actors.

UNESCO will work with academic institutions, local tech innovators, the Wikimedia movement and indigenous community networks to strengthen capacities to safeguard and promote Indigenous knowledge, cultures and languages through inclusive policies and practical action. This contributes to UNESCO’s regional support strategy by advancing inclusive digital transformation, linguistic diversity and community resilience.
Nepal - Promoting cultural expressions and strengthening the creative sector in Nepal
UNESCO will support the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to advance ratification of the 2005 Convention in Nepal by strengthening the For CCI network to generate evidence, improve coordination and inform policy, in line with UNESCO’s regional focus on cultural diversity and youth engagement.
Nepal - Safeguarding traditional knowledge as living heritage of Indigenous communities in Nepal
UNESCO will work with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, ICIMOD, NEFIN and the Indigenous Nationalities Commission to carry out a scoping study on the traditional knowledge of Indigenous pastoralist and farming communities in Nepal, and its role in safeguarding agricultural biodiversity and cultural diversity. This will support inclusive heritage safeguarding and the regional focus on cultural diversity, youth and community engagement.
Nepal - Supporting the protection and sustainable management of World Heritage in Nepal
UNESCO will support national partners, communities and experts to strengthen the protection and sustainable management of World Heritage in Nepal, with stronger coordination among key stakeholders, including civil society.
Nepal - Strengthening capacity for WH protection and sustainable development in Nepal
In collaboration with the national authorities and other technical partners, provide technical support for the conservation and management of World Heritage Sites in Nepal including capacity building on various pertinent topics. This will contribute to implementing the Regional Framework Action Plan for the Asia-Pacific 2021-2027.
