BACKGROUND AFDC Global is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning & Coordination Intern to support a set of focused organizational activities over a 3-month period. This is a learning- centered internship designed for early-career development professionals who wish to gain hands-on exposure to NGO coordination, data collection, evaluation support — with a commitment of approximately 2 hours per day . The intern will work closely with AFDC Global's director and team to support three core organizational workstreams currently active on ReliefWeb. SCOPE OF WORK What You'll Actually Do Co-facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with teachers, youth, parents, and community leaders Support survey rollout and data collection across schools and communities Help with participant mobilization — reaching diverse groups including girls, rural communities, and marginalized populations Assist with policy document collection and desk research on education and digital learning Translate and contextualize research tools into local language Support data entry, transcription, and basic qualitative coding Attend regular virtual meetings with the AFDC team and contribute country updates Be part of building evidence that influences real policy LEARNING OBJECTIVES By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to: Run real FGDs and interviews in the field Contributed to a multi-country mixed-methods study project Gained direct mentorship from an international development director Built skills in ethical research, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis, partnership coordination, global exposure A formal AFDC Certificate of Internship and a strong reference A real understanding of what development consulting looks like from the inside TIME COMMITMENT 2 hours per day , Monday through Friday Total estimated commitment: ~120–130 hours over 3 months Fully remote; flexible scheduling within agreed working hours QUALIFICATIONS Required: You have some exposure to data collection — from your thesis, a class project, or volunteering You live in Bangladesh, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, or Vanuatu (this is non-negotiable, only in-country candidates will be considered) You're fluent in your local language and comfortable working English language Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in international development, Education, social sciences, public policy, or a related field or looking to start their career in International development, NGO Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Basic proficiency in Google Workspace or MS Office (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)/ experience of managing virtual workshops Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting Preferred: Familiarity with development sector platforms Prior exposure to evaluation conce
